The colorful hand painted, 20 foot "U" shaped bar top is the only one of its kind and became an instant attraction. The five inch deep top allows patrons to set their drinks on a glass surface and peer down at hand carved rainbow trout seemingly swimming downstream. The floor to bar glass center showcases a three foot high hand carved view of a trout rising to the surface to catch a dry fly.

Lodge owner, Donnette Hansen, discovered and commissioned the talents of Vermont artist Bill Herrick in the spring of 1993 and the two designed a "bar top" reflecting the "outdoor" theme of the restaurant. Four months later, the world's only basswood trout stream was shipped to the Lone Star State - in seven pieces. It is over 20 feet long and an acclaimed piece of art at the Lodge. You won't want to miss it.
